I am currently obsessed with two things: online personals and KS95. Neither is particularly productive and both are, one would think, incredibly shame-inducing. But no, I'm pretty comfortable admitting my addictions. Maybe it's because I can "justify" them both. E-mailing with strangers (let's call a spade a spade) makes me very aware of how I write about, present, and perceive myself; and if doesn't work out, the writing exercise usally proves useful for a personal essay piece or at the very least makes a good cocktail party story. And who doesn't need good cocktail party stories?
As for the KS95 obsession, I thoroughly enjoy singing harmony to more, um, accomplished singers than myself. Quick tip: it's much easier harmonize if you're familiar with the melody. I also really like belting it out with Kelly Clarkson, the Fray, and Gavin Degraw. KS95 plays at least one Kelly ballad an hour. Thus the addiction/obsession. Hey, it's healthier than Snood.
Photos of the vacation forthcoming shortly, but I wouldn't bate the breath just yet.
